New Electricity Connection in Uttarakhand to Cost More

The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (Uttarakhand Vidyut Niyamak Ayog), Kashipur, is all set to increase the Cost of New Electricity Connection in the state.

The New Electricity Connection Rates:

0 to 2 KWH Electricity Metres:

-- Additional Rs 1000 have to paid for every additional 10 metres from the Electricity Poll.

-- Present Rates and New Proposed Rates, according to the distance from the Poll:

At present Rs 400 is charged if the distance from the Poll is 200 metres. Proposed New Rate -- Rs 600 upto 40 metres.

At present Rs 4000 is charged if the distance from the Poll is 200 metres. Proposed New Rate -- Additional Rs 1000 for every 10 metres (above the 40 metres). Thus if a new Connection is 70 metres aways from the poll, then the consumer will have to pay = (600 + 1000 + 1000 +1000) = Rs. 3600

The Price of a new Connection has been kept the same, Rs 400, in the new rates as well. Thus the above consumer will have to pay 3600 + 400 = 4000 for the new connection.

2 to 4 KWH Electricity Metres:

-- Additional Rs 1500 have to paid for every additional 10 metres from the Electricity Poll.

Proposed New Rate -- Additional Rs 1500 for every 10 metres (above the 40 metres). Thus if a new Connection is 70 metres aways from the poll, then the consumer will have to pay = (600 + 1500 + 1500 +1500) = Rs. 5100

The Price of a new Connection has been kept the same, Rs 400, in the new rates as well. Thus the above consumer will have to pay 5100 + 400 = 5500 for the new connection.

15 to 20 KWH Electricity Metres:

-- Additional Rs 1500 have to paid for every additional 10 metres from the Electricity Poll.

-- Present Rates and New Proposed Rates, according to the distance from the Poll:

At present Rs 2000 is charged if the distance from the Poll is 200 metres; and Rs 20,000 for above 200 metres. Proposed New Rate -- Rs 2500 upto 40 metres; and additional Rs 3000 for additional every 10 metres.

Thus if a new Connection is 70 metres aways from the poll, then the consumer will have to pay = (2500 + 3000 + 3000 + 3000) = Rs. 11500
