One more state has been added to the beneficiaries of the Uttarakhand Power. According to the latest announcement of the Haryana Power Purchase Centre, Chandigarh – Haryana has tied up with Uttarakhand to get electricity in order to ensure adequate power supply in the State in August (the state has made similar deals with Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh).

Under the new agreement, all the states would supply 223.07 lakh units of electricity to Haryana daily. Uttarakhand can be expected to constitute a sizable portion of the said power supply. Notably, Haryana will require about 1,372 lakh units daily to meet the demand against which about 1,446 lakh units will be available.
