Uttarakhand Cabinet approves proposals announced on Uttarakhand Foundation Day

The Uttarakhand Cabinet approved a slew of proposals last night, in a meeting headed by Chief Minister B C Khanduri, announced on the occasion of State Foundation Day on November 9 2011, which are as under:

1) Setting up a Madrasa board

2) Signing an integrity agreement with contractors for keeping at bay possibility of corruption in the government: Makign it mandatory for all government departments to sign an integrity contract with the contractors, which clearly states that receiving or giving bribe is prohibited. A monitoring system would also be developed for keeping watch on contracts awarded by the government departments.

3) Cleared proposals to upgrade Purola and Gairsain as Nagar Panchayats. The tehsils of Purola in Uttarkashi district and Gairsain in Chamoli district would be upgraded as Nagar Panchayats.

4) Provision of free bus service for girl students in Uttarakhand, on presenting the bus conductor with their Institutions’ Identity Card.

6) Gave its approval for extending the deadline of applying for regularization of illegal habitations till March 31 next year.

7) One-time incentive of Rs 50,000 to students selected for IIT, IIM, IMA and other national-level institutes.

8) The Nazool land (Be-Naap) could be made freehold on the circle rates prevailing at the time of creation of Uttarakhand in 2000.
