Today, Independence Day was celebrated in Uttarakhand with Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna unfurling the National Flag at the Parade Ground. On the eve, the CM also decorated five police personnel with medals for their outstanding contribution in service.

The five police personnel, who were decorated with Mukhyamantri Sarahniya Sewa Padak include Prakash Chandra Dewali (Inspector), Rajkishore Singh Farswan (Inspector), Bhuwan Chandra Pande (Sub-Inspector), Ashish Kumar Singh (Head Constable) and Shamendra Kumar Shahu (constable).

Congratulations to the recipients. Keep up the Good work.

Are they the Best: It's normally assumed that, the state or the Government takes utmost care, before choosing a public servant for decoration (a medal or award). But time and again, it has been seen that, people with clout receive such honours. To ensure that, only the deserving people get such awards, the citizens can play a positive role by bringing to notice the good deeds of those public servants, who diligently work for them (the public).
