Uttarakhand Post Offices become mobile/ecommerce marketplace via Beam

Written by Anil Singh

The absence of a credit card, debit card (ATM card) or net banking is often a big handicap for those who want to buy things online or pay utility bills online. The best way to overcome this limitation is to get a debit card, credit card or net banking on one's bank account. Another solution to this problem is to use some service which accepts real money from you, and makes those electronic money payments for you. Beam, a mobile wallet and mobile/ecommerce marketplace helps you accomplish just that.

India Post has signed an agreement with Beam Services to spread mCommerce across Uttarakhand post offices.

What will this mean?

The tie up between India Post and Beam in Uttarakhand will mean that an Uttarakhand resident, even in the absence of a credit or debit card or net banking will be able to buy books, clothes, tech gadgets, household items etc. online and pay for them in real money at some Uttarakhand Post Office. The said Uttarakhand post office will use the Beam Service to pay to the retailer. Not only the products, the tie up will also enable an Uttarakhand resident to avail services like mobile, data card, DTH recharges, utility payments, rail, air & bus tickets, cinema tickets etc.

The procedure will be simple, carry cash to a Post Office, pay in real cash; after that it's the headache of the Post Office to make the payment. For which it will be using Beam Services.

Demand the Best Service:

The Uttarakhand Post Offices, rolling out Beam facility for you does not mean they can be rude to you on the pretext of work overload. As CPMG, India Post Uttarakhand said, “We feel that with our tie-up with Beam, we will give people a reason to visit post office for regular day-to-day transactions as well.”, you as a customer has the right to demand the best service. This means not shying away from asking any questions to the person in the counter.
