Why Every Competitive Examination Form in Uttarakhand Costs Rs 500?

But for a state to feel poor and show poor, it has to act poor. Ever since the foundation of Uttarakhand, every Competitive Examination Form in Uttarakhand is costing Rs 500.

Yesterday the Planning Commission of India released a List which grouped States on the basis of relative Development. In the List, while Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa etc. were considered least developed; the states like Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand were considered most Developed.

Now, the principal opposition party in Uttarakhand the BJP and some newspapers are asking why Uttarakhand featured in the developed group of states!

The question is not wrong; considering a sizable population of Uttarakhand is unemployed or is employed in unorganised sector.

But for a state to feel poor and show poor, it has to act poor. Ever since the foundation of Uttarakhand, every Competitive Examination Form in Uttarakhand is costing Rs 500. A small example, but a proof of the fact that irrespective of the political parties, the Governments in Uttarakhand don't assume that a big section of youth in Uttarakhand will feel the burden. As a matter of fact, the BJP Government making a lot of hue and cry now, sold every competitive examination form at a higher price than the current government. Mulayam Singh Yadav in the neighbouring Uttar Pradesh can be praised for one thing -- His Governments are normally sympathetic to the economic condition of its Youth. Perhaps, Uttar Pradesh PSC application forms and other forms normally cost under Rs 200.
