A joke:

A person accompanying the driver praised him for his skilled driving. Adequately encouraged by the praise, When the driver asked for detailed praise, the person said: As you are visiting every pothole on the road, without fail.

Jokes apart. As that's not the driver's fault. The 39 kilometers of National Highway Section NH 58 in Uttarakhand from Haridwar to Dehradun, particularly in between Doiwala and Haridwar is laced with potholes. Some on the the middle of the lane, about 3 feet in diameter and about 6-7 inches deep.

Pot Holes, NH 58 in Uttarakhand, Haridwar to Dehradun
Such is the condition of the road, that a two wheeler at even 40 km/hour can meet with an accident.

Notably the 39 kilometers of National Highway Section NH 58 in Uttarakhand from Haridwar to Dehradun section is seeing the construction of four laning. This has resulted in massive potholes on the highway.

The Authorities who are responsible for the upkeep of the road must act timely before some precious lives are lost (some accidents have already took place).

I wonder, if every motor accident on these bad roads sue the National Highway Authority or the Government for damages (that too exemplary); the authorities responsible will not ignore such potholes, that carelessly.
