CTET for election bound Manipur, Punjab and Uttarakhand to be held in May

Here’s important news for candidates from Uttarakhand, Punjab and Manipur: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) scheduled for January 29, has been deferred to May in the election-bound states of Manipur, Punjab and Uttarakhand.

New Date of the CTET for Uttarakhand, Punjab and Manipur:

The examination postponed in view of the advice of the Election Commission, will now be hled on May 5, 2012.

NOTE: The candidates from these three states are advised to preserve their CTET admit cards to appear for the postponed examination on May 5. In the remaining states the test will be held as per the schedule on January 29, 2012, said a statement issued by CBSE here yesterday.

What is Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET):

For those, who aspire to be a teacher, but are not aware of CTET, here is a short description: CTET is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for recruitment of teachers for classes I to VIII. The CTET score and certificate also apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh and Andaman and Nicobar unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
