Somwati Amavasya and Waste Littered on Ganga Ghats in Hardwar, Rishikesh

All through Sarvapitr Amavasya or Somwati Amavasya yesterday, people were busy seeing off their ancestors on Ganga Ghats in Hardwar and Rishikesh. Majority of them brought material stuff for their departed ancestors in polytheme bags. All of which was seen littered across Ganga Ghats.

This brings us to the main point of the article. For more than one year now, we're seeing Television Advertisements about the change brought by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Seeing the Ganga Ghats and the river itself yesterday, all the claims seem not more than some misinformation. If the Modi Government is serious about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Namami Gange Project, then it has to do the real work. This means spending money on Waste management Systems and recruting Lakhs of people to clean, collect and dispose off waste. It will be better than spending hundreds of crores on Televisions Advertisements "telling the country how effective the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" turned out to be.

To conclude, we need not to tell lies to other people. As those who tell lies to others, for whatever reasons, ultimately start telling lies to themselves. Which is not a very smart thing to do! ... Is it?
