2 Uttarakhand hydro power projects to be bought by EDCL

Uttarakhand hydro power sure has an attraction for companies that engage in the business of generation of electricity. According to reports, Energy Development Company Ltd (EDCL), who wants to have a presence in Uttarakhand hydro power, plans to acquire 3 hydro power projects with a total capacity of 17 MW Uttarakhand.

The purchase will be a part of EDCL’s purchase of 5 hydro electric projects with a total generation capacity of 56 MW in two different states of India. Apart from Uttarakhand, EDCL is going to buy 2 hydro power projects in Arunachal Pradesh having a combined capacity of 39 MW.

EDCL, an India-based company, will purchase 100% share holding of the SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) companies formed for these projects. EDCL which is in the business of electricity generation has its presence in small hydro power projects and wind power generation.
