Written by Anil Singh

Now this news should be seen as ‘beginning of good days’ for power situation in the state. But as someone has said, in India the more things change, the more they remain the same. Hence don’t be disappointed if the power situation in your town doesn’t change a bit, even now.

Five hydro power projects of the Yamuna valley being undertaken by Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL) generated 9.515 MU (Million Unit) electricity, the highest recorded generation in the past eight-year. This happened by a slew of changes made by the UJVNL, like the discharge of water was set at 200 cumec at Chibbro power project that resulted at 185-190 MW load on power house.
