New Adventure Tourism Destinations in Uttarakhand, to be Developed

Extending the Tourism sector in Uttarakhand beyond the Char Dham Yatra, the state government has identified over a dozen places spread over eight districts to develop them as adventure tourism destinations.

The adventure tourism destinations will be developed by Uttarakhand Tourism aided by ADB .

The New Adventure Tourism Destinations identified are :

Naugaon and Mori (Uttarkashi)
Kotgi Sem (Rudraprayag)
Bhikiyasain and Kumariya (Almora)
Kapkot (Bageshwar)
Pancheshwar (Champavat)
Satputli and Srinagar (Pauri)
Jauljivi and Munsyari (Pithoragarh)
Kaleshwar and Joshimath (Chamoli)

Depending on their geographical location, facilities for adventure sports activities like rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, trekking and mountain biking will be installed at these places at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 16 crore.
